I broke my iPhone (don't ask how I did it). At any rate, it's on its last leg, and I've been casually searching for a new one. I've had Androids and iOS phones over the years. I like Apple for their simplicity and reliability, and I like Android for their versatility, and variety. But the thing is, phones are just way too expensive these days. I never thought I'd see the day where you would have to finance a stupid phone much like you would a car. I digress. Did a little bit of searching, and was hoping some of you folks could point me in the right direction.

    Best Cheap phones:

    • Under $600 - Samsung Galaxy S10e
    • Under $500 - OnePlus 7T
    • Under $400 - iPhone SE 2020
    • Under $300 - Moto G Power
    • Under $200 - Moto G Fast

I do enjoy having a techie-type phone because the one I have has all the bells and whistles of the time it was manufactured. Still, I don't want to feel like I'm paying off a car every month. What do you folks think?

My wife and I recently switched to Xfinity Mobile and got a $500 Visa gift card for it. We both got the iPhone 11 and each one is $43/month for 24 months. We mainly switched to them because they have unlimited everything for $45/line. They also use Verizon's lines, so our coverage area is the same since we formerly used Verizon. It's certainly not the cheapest option, but we have been iPhone users for years and I can't imagine switching now.

However, for people like my grandparents, the Jitterbug or something similar to it is a great option. My grandparents have a cell phone for emergencies only, so they certainly don't need all the bells and whistles.

Recommend the iPhone SE 2020. Recently upgraded via Best Buy, and only ended up paying $350, plus got a $50 gift card, so it was really only $300 if you want to look at it that way.

SE is a bargain because it has the same chip set as their most expensive version, yet skimps a little on the screen and less camera lenses, and therefore is far cheaper. To me its the best inexpensive smartphone on the market. Though perhaps Google's newest inexpensive Pixel is a worthwhile consideration.

iPhone SE competition. For sure. Comes out August 3rd. One thing it has that I wish the SE did is a HEADPHONE JACK. Good on google.
