More Stimulus Checks have to be coming, right?

With cases are spiking all over the country, and re-openings are being reversed. Masks are being made mandatory in states that refused to make them so just a few weeks ago. And Congress has been waiting around to pass another round of stimulus money that includes more checks because they were basically hoping the worst was done.

Well, not quite. I think with the spike in cases we see another round of stimulus checks soon. Think Congress gets their act together and does this soon?

I've certainly learned to never assume Congress will do the right thing, but with the huge spike in cases and a number of densely populated states pausing or outright reversing their reopening plans, I would just be shocked if there isn't another round of direct payments to the vast majority of Americans.

It really is amazing how much we've dug our heads in the sand while the rest of the industrialized world took this virus seriously. They are all beginning to open back up and get back to some sense of normalcy while we continue to debate whether or not to give a few extra dollars to tens of millions of people who are wondering how they are going to pay rent next month.

I personally think we need a lot more than one more stimulus check to truly jump start our economy, but if that's all we can get then it's certainly better than nothing at all.

Agreed. $1200 or so one time isn't going to cut it.

Seems this is exactly what is going to happen. Pretty undeniable that aren't returning back to normal anytime soon like many in Congress hoped is forcing them to send out more checks. Should have GOP plan early next week. I expect to see unemployment checks continue but be drastically cut weekly, and then close to the same kind of stimulus checks we got the first time. Maybe just with a lower income cap.

Would mean we could see approval as soon as end of month or beginning of next month. If not their vaca starts Sept 7th and it lasts a long time. Would be dumb of them to push it to end of Sept or even Oct. Unless they want to pass it just before the election. Would be a dirty move and also dumb if it takes the IRS months to pay everyone like the first time around.
