Wanted to make a separate post about the specific timetable for everyone to get their 2nd stimulus check of $600. The bill requires the IRS to send out all checks by a January 15th, 2021 deadline. Which is great because last time they had several months (and some folks are still waiting on their original $1200).

If you got yours successfully the first time around, you should expect to see a direct deposit into your account between now and January 15th, likely much closer to now. And if you got it in the mail or switched your bank acct since, you'll get a paper check or prepaid debit card in the mail between the next few days and next few weeks.

And finally, if there are any complications with the IRS sending it those routes for you, you can claim the $600 (and possibly more if it gets upped to $2,000) as a tax credit on your 2020 taxes that you file by April of 2021.

Getting this info from this article, which is getting from the IRS site and Mnuchin press statements.

I know this site has lots of stimulus threads already, so this one is just for exactly when to expect your money. Post your experience here, and also if you find any credible info on the timetable changing.

My wife and I got ours already, just waiting for it to clear its pending status, and that was on the 1st or the second of this month. I think most people should be getting theirs even sooner, especially if they filed their taxes last year and received the first stimulus check.

Did you get yours through direct deposit or check in the mail? Still waiting on mine to come on the mail because I changed by bank acct a few months ago and the IRS doesn't have that info.

Today is the 15th of January and we have still not received our check(s) for my wife and I. The first round went great. I filed my 2019 tax return so not sure what the hold up is. If it does not come today are we forced to just claim it on our 2020 taxes?

Today is the last day for the IRS to send them out. So it could still be on its way if they are mailing you a check instead of direct deposit. Did you check the IRS Get My Payment tool for your status?

I received my 1st stimulus ck as a direct deposit into my checking account. In Dec., someone hacked my checking acct. I had to close it and open a new one. Not only have I not received the $600 stimulus check, but I have not received my social security payment. The first thing I did in Dec. was to notify Soc. Sec. of my new checking account and routing #. Can someone advise me about what I should do at this juncture? Thank you!

You'll need to claim the $600 on your taxes when you file for 2020. It'll go down as a tax rebate credit. Think of the stimulus checks as advances on tax rebates. If the IRS had issue sending them to you (change of bank acct for example that they wouldn't have on file) then they instead give you the stimulus payment when you file. If you owe, it'll be $600 less. Or $600 more if you get a refund.
