Congress passed the stimulus check legislation last night and it is now awaiting President Trump's signature. He has signaled that he'll sign it today.
The checks will be $600 for most Americans, with an additional $600 per eligible dependent.
Individual filers making up to $75,000 would be eligible for the entire $600, but that number decreases the more money you make, phasing out entirely at $87,000. The numbers are doubled for couples filing jointly.
Parents who have dependent children 16 and under will also be eligible to receive an additional $600/dependent child.
The reason the capped amount is lower this time around is because the stimulus check is half of the initial amount that was passed in April, but the formula to distribute the checks remains the same.
