I pay too much for car insurance I think. Anyone here have luck switching their auto insurance to save money? You always here claims from every major insurer 'you can save hundreds' but I'm with a major one and seems like I pay a lot. I have no accidents or tickets on my record for the last 10 years. And I don't drive that much, less than 12k miles a year.

Any recommendations? Are there good sites that compare rates from all the big and small insurers that you have used and that seem trustworthy?

I'd recommend using a broker if you are able to. They act as an intermediary between you and an insurance company and can typically find you a pretty good deal. They do add an additional cost that you'll need to consider, but you'll still will wind up saving money compared to going it alone the vast majority of the time.

I agree. Or you might look into smaller insurance companies. They may actually be cheaper. It also depends on what kind of coverage you're looking for.
