How does the market feel about a Biden presidency? I know the stock market is largely built on confidence and expectations, and not necessarily reality sometimes. So I'm curious how Wall Street feels about Biden vs Trump. Do you think there will be a big difference, or is it more complicated than that?

I was told by a friend of mine just yesterday that the stock market shows general investment gains of 10% with a newly elected democratic president. In other words, he said it's usually a good idea to invest right when a democratic president is elected than a republican. Not sure the science here, but he's in that profession and isn't the type to mention this sort of thing if it's not researched and true.

I'm afraid the stock market will take a hit. Once Trump became prez, there was an uptick. People made a lot of money off of him just showing up. Which he took full credit for. :) Democratic presidents seem to get a bad reputation in the economics department. Perhaps just that alone will affect the market negatively.

Well, the market is doing pretty darn well since the race was called for Biden. I suspect that is partially because it's also looking like Republicans will (ever so slightly) retain control of the Senate. Ironically, Washington gridlock tends to be good for markets because we can largely assume no major financial regulations are going to be coming anytime soon.

That may not be good for the average American trying to get by, but it will certainly be welcome news to major corporations.
